Cadmium

Cadmium (Cd) is a silver-white metal. It rapidly converts to cadmium oxide in air. Inorganic salts such as cadmium sulfate, cadmium nitrate, cadmium chloride are soluble in water. If the concentration of cadmium fume in the air exceeds the limit of 1 mg/m3, it is possible to observe acute effects on breathing. Due to the low excretion of cadmium from the body and its accumulation, its negative effects on health are observed over time. The organ that will be most affected by long-term exposure is the kidneys. In the research conducted; It has been determined that if the concentration of cadmium accumulated in the kidney reaches 200 mg/kg (based on wet weight), there is deterioration in kidney functions. It is not possible to reverse the damage to the kidney. The effect of cadmium on the formation of lung and prostate cancers has been precisely determined. The World Health Organization determines the cadmium concentration in the air to protect human health; It recommends not to exceed 1-5 ng/m3 in rural areas and 10-20 ng/m3 in urban and industrial areas where there is no agricultural activity.

capacity to act

It means rights in favor of a person and obligations against him through his own actions and transactions.

Carbon Monoxide Poisoning

Although it is a gas, we deemed it appropriate to discuss it under a separate heading due to its special importance and danger. Carbon monoxide (CO) is a tasteless, colorless, odorless and non-irritating gas. It may cause poisoning for accident or suicide purposes. Carbon monoxide poisoning occurs by ingesting and inhaling substances containing butane gas, coal stoves and heaters, smoke (including cigarette smoke), automobile exhaust (a car operated in a small and closed garage produces lethal levels of carbon monoxide within 15-30 minutes), methylene chloride, iodide, and bromide.

Carcinogen

These are substances that cause cancer or accelerate cancer formation when inhaled, taken orally, or when they penetrate the skin.

Caste
